Privacy Policy

Operator and contact

Duston McGroarty operates Autism Benefits Guide. For questions or requests about your information, contact support@autismbenefitsguide.com.

Information the app collects

Account information includes your email address, name, authentication information, and your adult child's first name. Screening answers include age range, state, living arrangement, work, income categories, benefits, health coverage, resources, marital status, citizenship/national status, certain residency circumstances, and reported disability-related facts. These answers may include sensitive health and financial information. We also save your screening result, action plan, task completion, and relevant dates.

Our hosting, authentication, database, and email providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request/device information, security logs, and email-delivery events as part of operating their services. Support correspondence includes the information you choose to send us. Do not email sensitive documents or credentials.

Why information is used

Information is used to create and secure accounts, screen reported circumstances for SSI, explain results, save and restore progress, send confirmation and password-reset emails, respond to support requests, and investigate technical or security problems. The authorized owner can review family records and correct information or progress when needed to operate the service.

We use customer information only to operate and support this service. We do not sell customer information or share it for advertising.

Service providers and disclosures

The app uses Supabase for account authentication and database storage, Vercel for hosting, and Resend for authentication-email delivery through Supabase. Cloudflare manages the domain's DNS and forwards incoming support emails to our monitored mailbox. Our mailbox provider also processes support correspondence. Providers process information relevant to the services they perform. Access to account records is restricted using authentication and database access rules.

The current app does not transmit an SSI application to Social Security. Following an external link takes you to a website governed by that site's own practices. Payments are not currently enabled, and the app does not currently collect payment-card information. This policy will be updated before introducing payment processing or materially different data uses.

Browser storage

The app uses browser storage to maintain authentication and temporarily preserve incomplete screening/signup drafts. Draft recovery accepts drafts less than one hour old; this expiry does not mean every stored browser value is physically deleted at exactly one hour. Compatible open tabs of this website can exchange an unexpired signup draft for the matching email during account confirmation. Drafts do not contain your password. Use a private device when entering family information and sign out when finished.

Retention and requests

We keep saved profiles, screenings, plans, and progress until you request deletion. You can review screening answers and contact support@autismbenefitsguide.com to request access, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify your identity and, for another adult's information, your authority. Within 30 days of verifying a deletion request, we will delete your account and associated records from the active service and address associated support correspondence, except records we are legally required to retain. The current app does not automatically delete inactive accounts.

Deleting active records does not immediately erase every provider backup or technical log. Residual copies may remain under the providers' retention schedules or legal and security requirements. We will request provider assistance when needed and will not use retained backup copies to continue providing your deleted account. If a backup is restored, we will reapply recorded deletions before returning the restored data to normal use.

Security and audience

We use HTTPS, authentication, and database access restrictions. No security system can guarantee absolute protection. The service is intended for adults and is not designed for children under 18 to create accounts. Only enter another adult's information with appropriate permission or authority. Contact us if information was supplied without authorization.

Changes

We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide appropriate notice of material changes.
